    There's a Designated Pilot Examiner (DPE) Neal Karman in Arlington, WA. He owns a Lake Buccaneer.

    Thanks for your question and for using our forum.  I hope someone else will chime in to help out with some more direct answers.  Actually, you'll need the Single Engine Sea rating, it's more than an endorsement and requires a check ride.  I think amphibs will add the complex endorsement and if your HP is high enough with a constant speed prop, there will be the High Performance endorsement as well.  CFIs can sign off the endorsements but you'll need a DPE for the check ride.  I know there used to be one in OLY, but that was years ago.  Any local rated CFI should be able to answer your questions.

    Hi guys I'm new to this forum and am looking to get my seaplane endorsement.   I built a murphy rebel on amphib floats 20 years ago and have been flying it without my endorsement since then.  For some reason I thought I read if the aircraft is experimental I could land in water as long as I was solo.  Well I think I was wrong so I'm looking to get my endorsement.   I'm around the olympia area and am looking for the quickest route to my endorsement.   Can I take the check ride in my own airplane? And if there are any instructors recommended I'd appreciate the info.   Thank you Brian
